Our annual Stock Pitch Competition is back again!


Be a part of the tertiary wide competition consisting of participants from NUS, NTU, SMU, SIM and SUTD. To participate in the NUS-SGX Stock Pitch Competition, form a team of 3-4 members and submit a proposal of a stock recommendation from a pre-determined list of stocks available. Shortlisted teams will be invited to present to a panel experienced professionals from DBS Vickers, Goldman Sachs and SGX. ­.

What’s in it for you?

Winning teams stand to win cash prizes of $1,500 (1st Prize), $700 (2nd Prize) and $300 (3rd Prize)! In addition, there will be a networking session and a chance for the audience to win paid SGX Academy Workshop tickets (worth $30) during the finals. Lastly, winning teams also stand a chance to secure internship opportunities with our partners!

Information Session To receive a pre-determined list of stocks available.

–    To qualify for the competition, at least one representative from each team is to attend this session.

–    Select one stock from the list to recommend either a buy, hold, or sell position.

–    A one-year time-horizon should be used as the basis for the recommendation.


2 5th–10thMarch 2016




Preliminary Round


Teams to submit their stock pitch in the form of a report before 10th March 2016 at 1230hrs.

–   Capped at a maximum of 10 pages.

–   Other than   the cover page,   competing teams are   NOT permitted to   identify themselves in any form within the report.

–   Secondary research is allowed and strongly encouraged.

–   Report can include, and is not limited to: news articles, SEC filings, third-party investment research and others.


3 12th March 2016


Release of results 8 finalists will be shortlisted and notified of their status by 12th March 2016 at 1300hrs, other competing teams will be invited and are strongly encouraged to attend the finals.

–   Prior to the final round, participants are NOT allowed to view the submission of any other competing teams.


4 14th March 2016

(1600-2030 | SGX Auditorium)

Finals 1.     Stock pitches will be in the form of PowerPoint presentations, and would be 10 minutes in length, followed by an additional 10 minutes Q&A session with the judges.

–   Time limits will be strictly enforced.

–   All shortlisted team members would have to be present for the final round, and all members in the finalist teams would need to speak during the presentation


2.     Judging Criteria

–   Quality of the analysis

–   Quality of presentation delivery

–   Quality of response during Q&A session

–   15% of total score is based on voting by the audience.
