Event: AVIC Undergraduate Investment Forum

TThe AVIC Undergraduate Investment Forum 2009 is a collaboration between The Business Times, Citibank and the Association of Varsities’ Investment Clubs (AVIC) aimed at cultivating a deeper interest in investing among undergraduates and facilitating sharing and networking among like-minded individuals from schools and the industry. Organised by AVIC which comprises students from the Singapore Management University (SMU) E.y.E Investment Club, Nanyang Technological University (NTU) Investment Interactive Club, National University of Singapore (NUS) Investment Society and SIM University (UniSIM) Investment & Networking Club, the inaugural forum is themed Insights to Financial Instruments. A discussion panel titled ‘Managing Investments in these current times’ kickstarts the forum. There will also be 5 seminars covering topics which include the market outlook for four different asset classes: Equities, Commodities, ETFs, Forex, and Fundamentals of Asset Allocation. The forum will educate undergraduates on different asset classes and diversification to reduce risks. Speakers are senior industry professionals representing firms including Citibank, Standard & Poor’s, Lumiere Capital and Fundsupermart. SMU is the venue host for the full-day event, which will be held on 5 September 2009. The forum is free and is opened to all undergraduates from SMU, NTU, NUS and SIM. Sign up now!
