President

Nicholas is a third-year Economics Student who started investing in G10 Currencies before entering university. His experiences trading equities, currencies and derivatives have taught him the value of risk-taking and seizing any opportunity, whether in the capital markets or in life. As President, he intends to build the NUS Investment Society into a platform where members have every chance to develop the skill-sets, and find the networking opportunities that they need to build and shape the career that they want for themselves.

Ryan

Ryan

Vice President (Research)

Ryan is a third-year Life Sciences student with a keen interest in understanding markets, from long term macro themes to short term sentiments. He avidly trades equities, fixed income as well as currencies. As Vice President of Research, he heads the three research departments, namely Global Macro, Equity Research and Quantitative Finance. Ryan works closely with the respective directors to ensure publications are of the highest caliber. In addition, Ryan aims to lay the foundation to creating a Student Managed Fund for NUS Invest. This begins with managing a theoretical fund, taping on the knowledge of all three research divisions and combining these views into a optimal asset allocation for the Investment Society.

Arissa

Vice President (External)

Arissa is a second-year undergraduate from the NUS Business School. Having previously served as President of the Nanyang Polytechnic Investment Club, Arissa went on to join NUS Invest as a Projects Management Executive in her first year and headed flagship events such as the NUS-SGX Stock Pitch Competition. She has also completed internships in renowned banks such as Citi, J.P. Morgan and Societe Generale. As Vice President (External), she heads HR, Marcomm and PM departments. She aims to work closely with the three external departments to build a refined brand and image for the club and to continue creating new networking and learning opportunities for all NUS Invest members to expand their knowledge in Finance.

Calvin

Vice President (Relations)

Calvin is a second year undergraduate pursuing a major in Finance in NUS Business School. Calvin is an ardent disciple of value investing and relishes the process of searching for undervalued stocks. As Vice President (Relations) of NUS Investment Society, Calvin hopes to re-position the NUS Investment Society by building and fostering mutually beneficial partnerships with banks and financial institutions. Also, he hopes to create ample opportunities and exposure for members to interact with people working in the variety of job functions in the industry. Calvin is confident that a comprehensive view of the finance industry will complement the technical skills learnt during the training sessions and help the members gain a holistic awareness of where their interests lie.

Darryl

Darryl
Research Director (Equity Research)

Darryl is a second year student at NUS Business School specialising in Finance. His interest in investing and the financial markets started in his Junior College days, after reading a comic book about Warren Buffet. Darryl currently manages his personal investment portfolio, and adopts a fundamental driven, top-down approach. He strongly advocates financial literacy as an essential life skill and believes that the best way to learn about investing is through one’s personal successes and failures. As the Equity Research Director, Darryl hopes to build the fundamentals of incoming analysts, as well as sharpen their investment acumen, helping them make better and more informed investments.

Devin

Devin
Research Director (Global Macro)

Devin is second year student in the NUS Business School, and a notable technical analyst who also balances Fundamental Analysis in his investment decisions. He discovered his passion in the stock market when he was 15 and has applied his knowledge into Forex trading in recent years. It has allowed him to be financially independent from his parents since a relatively young age. His investment and trading knowledge has brought him a long way, in 2017 together with his team, he clinched champion for national stock challenge and third for CIMB ASEAN regional stock challenge.

Ze Xin

Ze Xin
Research Director (Quantitative Finance)

Zexin is a third year student majoring in Quantitative Finance under the Faculty of Science. The studies in investment science and asset pricing triggered his interesti in trading and investing. He believes in a scientific way of pricing and trading and his current interest is in automating discretionary trade ideas. His research interests are currently more towards stochastic calculus, time series analysis and portfolio construction. As director of Quantitative Finance department, Zexin hopes for a general appreciation and comprehension of Quantitative Finance among the university.

Kai Rong
Project Management Director

Kai Rong is a second-year undergraduate currently pursuing a degree in economics at the National University of Singapore. He strongly believes in achieving financial literacy, reading up on current affairs and picking up industry relevant skills beyond the university curriculum. It is these beliefs that made him join as an executive in the project management department the previous academic year. Now as project management director, he intends to contribute to NUS Investment Society by organizing events with the objective of improving financial literacy and providing networking opportunities with industry professionals.

Xuetian is a second year undergraduate pursuing a Bachelor of Business Administration in NUS. Her strong foundation in photography, video editing and design, together with a keen interest in investment & finance, motivated her to join NUS Investment Society. She believes that even the best idea requires effective marketing and branding to succeed, and recognises the power of new media in spreading ideas. As the Marketing and Communications Director, she strives to reach out to as many people as possible and bring NUS Invest to greater heights.

Human Resources Director

Jia En is a second-year undergraduate in the NUS Business School. She deeply enjoys working with people and planning events, both of which led her to take on the role of HR Director for the NUS Investment Society. As HR Director, she hopes to build a tremendous team of Executives, and to make sure that everyone in the Investment Society has as fruitful, and as meaningful a time as possible in their one year within the Society.

Deputy Director (Equity Research)

Crystal is a penultimate student at NUS Business School specialising in Finance with a minor in Japanese Studies. After attending several prestigious banking programmes such as Bank of America Merrill Lynch’s Banking Connections, Crystal continued with an internship at ING Bank with the trade and commodities finance team. With 3 years experience in analysing the markets, Crystal is currently managing an investment portfolio on behalf of her friends and family. With a keen interest in the markets coupled with her accumulated experience, Crystal is confident in guiding new equity research analysts to provide top quality investment recommendations.

Deputy Director (Global Macro)

Gideon is a second-year business student specializing in Finance. He started off his investing journey in equities during his polytechnic days and subsequently ventured into Forex trading for a more dynamic portfolio, adopting a top-down approach through macroeconomic trends, fundamental and technical analysis. He believes in building and fostering strong personal relationships, not just within the individual departments but the entire Investment Society as a whole.

Deputy Director (Quantitative Finance)

Shaocong is a third year undergraduate student majoring in quantitative finance and computer science. He firstly started his interest in learning finance from watching TV shows, documentaries and interviews. Afterward exposure to mathematical finance and algorithms made him more determined to develop systematic and quantitative model and method both for investing and trading. As one of the deputy director of QF department, he hopes to bring research and computing together for friends inside and outside NUS Invest society.
